That was the topic in my chatroom when I got back from the store, written by =Solitude12, who found out from this journal: [link] ... I clicked... I watched the little kitten be held under water.. I still am not crying because I'm in a state of shock in which I feel like this can't be true. It's too horrible. But it is, it is...

What I can paste together from reading English comments is that some guy held the kitten under water because it was "ill" to kill it and let it go. Because it was for a movie, it is considered artistic freedom (and done in another country where they don't have animal rights), and apparently, he won an award at the Film Festival for his performance of drowning a kitten.

If you click that link, you will be disturbed. Some of you will cry. Some of you might feel like you need to throw up. But however you feel, please.... please sign the petition. Animal rights in that country or not, this should not be allowed in film. This goes beyond artistic freedom. I mean, they say all artists are insane (of course that's true to some degree), but this... this is beyond insanity. This is just sick and evil.

That poor kitten, mewing under water and clawing to get out. Near the end, it kept opening its mouth, sucking down water though trying to get precious air. Its movements got slower. It tried one last time to breathe... and then it stopped moving, its eyes frozen open, a tiny bubble floating from its nose...



Tell everybody about this. Write a journal. Make fliers. Link the video and petition over and over. And don't be confined to dA - if you are on any other sites or own a site or anything, get them involved. Email all your friends and family. Let them sign the petition too.

Thanks for reading this... now go out and be animal rights activists. Do it for the kitten who is now in Heaven for the sake of a movie award.
