I'd been looking at the ground for a while. I didn't notice what she was doing. I heard a quick "beep" sound, as if something had been turned off. Still, I didn't move my head from its downward position. I was at a loss for words. How could I tell her what had happened? How could I tell her about the overrider chip . . .?
My brain was a mess. It was a tangle of emotions all wrapped up in tight knots. I'd used this metaphore before, I suppose, because the time was appropriate . . . but the time couldn't be better now, as well. And it was true. I didn't know what to say or what to do. After such a lengthy time apart, I'd missed her so . . . but now she'd returned to me, only to find that I wasn't the same person she once knew. And she still didn't know this yet.
Perhaps I should never tell her. If I could recall just enough emotion to . . . fake . . . love, then I would never have to break her heart. But how would I be able to live with such a horrible deed? I would regret for the rest of my life . . .
I glanced up, with guts enough to tell her the truth, to find that I was staring at something I'd never seen before.
Revealed before me, like a beautiful flower in full bloom, was Jiss . . . without her holographic desguise. My heart instantly started pounding in my chest. My eyes completely dilated. My mind desperately tried to say words, but my mouth was frozen. I'd never felt such a thing before. Nervousness wasn't even close to describing it.
After knowing Jiss for the time that I had, and always dreaming of how beautiful she would look without her hologram . . . I was completely speechless at seeing her this way. She was beyond mortal beauty. There was just something about her that seemed to glow. She was special. She was perfect. And -at risk of being killed just for thinking such a thing- she was completely mine.

For those of you who haven't been reading DCTR, I suggest you start. For those of you who have, you have this to look forward to in the third book.
And to everybody: This was colored using MS Paint for the flat colors, and shaded using Open Canvas. Special FX credit goes to combining both programs. I decided to shade it this way because it sets the mood for the scene.
Any questions about the story itself will not be answered. Go read it, you lazy-ass question-askers!
Or . . . well, wait for the finalized version. (Look at the first sentence to see when)

including thumbs? and I was just cheaking, cause he wasn't wearing his 'traditional style' clothes! but it is very awsome! and the story part just makes you look at Zim in an entirly differant way! XD after watching episodes like 'Megadoomer' and 'The Girl Who Cried Gnome' its hard to think Zim could ever think that deep at all! he's such a oddball! but we love him! *runs off to go eat waffles*

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
